Thursday 19th September saw Future Leap’s Festival of Sustainable Business exhibition held at We The Curious. This was an opportunity to connect and discover like-minded business and showcase our product range and services in return. We were incredibly proud to be an exhibition sponsor for such an impactful event and provide our sustainably sourced lanyards and badges.

As a team, we valued the opportunity to connect with other individuals and businesses that share our commitment to sustainability. Bouncing ideas and networking with a wide array of inspiring organizations not only deepened our understanding of their initiatives and products, but also motivated us to progress our sustainability journey even further.

The talks allowed us to learn from engaging experts and get motivated to progress our sustainability journey. Speakers such as Marvin Rees OBE, former Mayor of Bristol, and Carla Denyer, the Green Party Co-leader and Bristol MP, inspired all who had the opportunity to attend. Some of our personal favourites were Sophie Jarzebowski, talking about the impact of diversity in the construction industry, Fuad Mahamed discussing community engagement and Sara Telahoun talking and answering questions about ‘Green Skills’.

It was wonderful to see such a diverse crowd coming together with a focused goal. It allowed companies the chance to connect with young people and help inspire future generations. Sustainability in business extends beyond just being environmentally friendly. It encompasses how a company intends to minimise negative environmental and social impacts caused from its operations in a particular market. Education and career opportunities play a crucial role in making sustainable communities and encouraging sustainable career aspirations. It was great to see talks addressing topics such as ‘Women in Engineering’ and ‘Diversity in Environmentalism’ encouraging conversations around diversity in workplace culture.

The Festival of Sustainable Business provided a great platform to showcase advancements in sustainable technologies and services, while also facilitating networking and knowledge sharing opportunities. This event provided an excellent forum to advance our sustainability initiatives and highlight how important businesses, schools, and communities are in tackling the climate and environmental issues we all face collectively.

The event couldn’t have gone ahead without the fantastic organisation of the team at Future Leap. The commitment to ensuring sustainable festival set the standard for future events and allowed a community of ‘change-makers’ to collaborate and converse. We appreciated the opportunity to connect with, share, learn and listen to others who share our passion for sustainability and are equally committed to the cause. A huge thanks to Future Leap for encouraging the collaboration of business in the journey to a more sustainable world.
